Monster Hunter is a great RPG that
deserves much more merit than it was given by critics. It takes place in
a fantasy environment, centering around the hunting of monsters, and
boasts unusual controls, making heavy use of the analog sticks. The main
complaint I have is that the single player mode is far from extensive,
and you can only truly experience Monster Hunter through the online
mode.

Although I greatly enjoyed Monster Hunter in its day, the servers
have since been shut down. Therefore, despite its great qualities, I
would not recommend Monster Hunter. However, my rating of 4/5 reflects
my opinion of it when I originally played it on the PS2.
